Still Polaroid play at Zula Sound Bar

Venue: Zula Sound Bar, Long St, Cape Town
Time: 9:00pm
Price: R30
Date: 10 Sep 2005
Genre:
Afro Rock
Still Polaroid is a five piece outfit whose new sound is rocking the Western Cape.  A recent collaboration which has been described as Afro funk rock, Still Polaroid is capturing the imagination and soul of Cape Town.
Featuring best friends and lead vocalists, David Johnson and Johan Baird, their songs reflect their varied experiences of living and growing up.  With crowd pleasers like ‘Chocolate Baby’ and ‘Little Long Street’ Still Polaroid is fast becoming a firm favourite with young and old Capetonians alike.
Alton Ungerer and Arif Montsi are the bands’ bass player and violinist respectively.  Both have studied music since childhood and are the cornerstones of Still Polaroid’s unique sound.
Kurt Diedricks is the bands percussionist, with credits ranging as a composer, pianist, drummer, and guitarist.  He started his professional career at the tender age of 17 with acclaimed 'Goemajazz' artist Mac McKenzie and is a regular in the Cape Town Music scene, playing for a variety of local musicians.
