Cape Town-based fusion band, CODA, will be launching their new album
‘African Renaissance’ at a free event on the 28th November 2008 at the
Cape Quarter in Green Point, Cape Town.
The first offering from their new album has immediately rocked South
Africa’s airwaves and dance floors. Since October 2008, CODA’s new single
‘It’s Still the Music’ has rocked the airwaves across radio stations such
as KFM, Good Hope FM, Heart 104.9, 5 FM, Highveld, ECR etc.
Described as one of the most exciting and ground-breaking new acts to
grace local and international stages in recent years, their distinctive
sound gained immediate popularity amongst an astonishingly broad range of
audiences. CODA’s diversity has resulted in a new style of South African
music that appeals to audiences from Soweto to Paarl, from Gugulethu to
Bloemfontein and from Dubai to the Seychelles.
CODA was a finalist in the 2008 Best of Cape Town Awards under the
category ‘Performing Artists’ alongside FreshlyGround, and was nominated
as one of the country’s top five bands in the 2006 Top Billing/Lifestyle
Awards.
