American rock band 30 Seconds to Mars returns to South Africa as part of their worldwide ‘Into the Wild Tour’.
Their music is described as ranging from rock to post-grunge and alternative metal but the band is as well known for the creative visual imagery of their video’s as they are for their music.  In September they won the MTV Best Rock Video Award for Kings and Queen’s.  They are also in the running for the MTV European Music Awards with three nominations in the Best World Stage Performance, Best Rock and Best Video categories.  The awards will be decided later this year.

To date, 30 Seconds to Mars has released three studio albums to critical acclaim, and two tracks off their most recent album, This is War, have already gone to the number one slot of the US Alternative Charts.  Other hits include The Kill, A Beautiful Lie, From Yesterday and Closer to the Edge.
The band was formed in 1998 and consists of actor, lead singer and songwriter Jared Leto who also plays rhythm guitar, brother Shannon Leto the drummer and percussionist and Tomo Miličević on lead guitar and keyboards.
