Experience the unique sound of Simply Smooth, starring Zukiswa Apor (vocals), Lorna Maralack (piano), Ephron Maralack (piano and saxophone), Derrick Africa (bass guitar) and Carlo Fabe (drums) for one show only at On Broadway.

Simply Smooth, a function band from the Winelands, play anything from jazz to well-known covers, Cabaret, Marimba, Ghoema, Rock 'n Roll, R&B, African standards and more.  They combine the refreshing, individual expertise borne of many years of experience of each band member, to bring you a musical delight that is truly rare.  Members of the band have celebrated success, both locally and internationally (UK, UAE and France).  Amongst their many accolades, is that they have also shared the stage with Sibongile Khumalo, Sylvia Mdunyelwa, Judith Sephuma, Jimmy Dludlu, Selaelo Selota, Loyiso Bala, Winston Mankunku, Errol Dyers and Ezra Ngcukana.  The band is also very proud to have performed for former president Nelson Mandela.

Zukiswa Apor is a trained classical musician, having studied music at UWC for 5 years.  After her 5 years of training, she studied Jazz Performance and completed her training in 2002.  She has notched up many accolades, amongst these being contracted to perform at the Walt Disney Theatre in the UK in "The Lion King", having shared the stage with South Africa's jazz greats and with Al Jarreau, one of the world's most renowned international jazz maestros; having won the Afro Jazz Category at the 2001 Old Mutual Jazz Encounters Competition; having performed for former presidents Nelson Mandela and Thabo Mbeki and with jazz great Selaelo Selota; being lead singer for the UCT Big Band, to mention a few.  She is currently busy with her debut album "I sing for you".
The ancient tradition of lobola is highlighted in this African tale.  There is the joy of falling in love and then the reality of meeting 'the family'.  Come and enjoy this all original production with it's variety of songs that span across various musical genres.
Laugh a little, cry a little and share an unforgettable evening with Zukiswa and Simply Smooth.
