In keeping with the theme “Local is Lekker,
Duidelik, Ngca!!” we have introduced an all new “Cape Town Cares” Craft
Market at the Adderley Street Night Market. With the support of the Golden
Acre and in collaboration with the Cape Craft Design Institute, 100
emerging crafters and NGO’s will be hosted to exhibit their products in
this new market. Locally produced, hand-made festive craft products and
Christmas gifts will be sold.
We would like to provide a platform where we can
host a maximum amount of emerging crafters and NGO’s to showcase their
talents. We will therefore have a turnover of traders on a fourth-nightly
basis. New and innovative crafts will be showcased constantly. Come and
support NGO’s and crafters from your community and do all your Christmas
and festive season shopping at the “Cape Town Cares” Craft Market at the
Adderley Street Night Market.
“Come and celebrate our City and its people. Cape
Town will come alive with culture, music and entertainment for all” says
an excited Derek Bock, Chief Operations Officer of the Central City
Improvement District.
The market will be open each night from 19h00 to
24h00 and Adderley Street will be closed off to vehicles between Strand
and Bureau Streets and Darling Street will be closed off at Plein Streets.
Families can enjoy all sorts of activities under the festive lights.
Parking facilities will be available at the Grand
Parade, Greenmarket Square, and the Picbel Parkade. Free parking will be
available in the Golden Acre.
