Sencity is a multi-sensory, multi-faceted event conceived in the Netherlands by Skyway Foundation creator, Ronald Ligtenberg. Ronald is
fondly described as slightly off-the-wall by his friends and colleagues, which is probably why he started to organise Sencity, a music event for deaf, hearing and hearing impaired, six years ago. What seems to be impossible, music events for deaf, has yet amazed the world several times. By stimulating all senses, Sencity makes it possible to give deaf and hearing impaired a music experience that even for hearing people is one they have never had before.

Sencity has been held in over seven countries around the globe, including
Netherlands, Finland, Spain, Belgium, Miami, Mexico and Jamaica. And now
Skyway has chosen Cape Town to host the first Sencity event of its kind in
Africa.

Sencity Cape Town promises to be as great as the other events that Skyway has produced around the world.  With a line-up of awesome bands, DJ's and VJ's including Freshlyground, Coda, African Dope DJ collectives and two international DJ's from the Netherlands, DJ Chuckie and DJ Jaziah.
Performing artists of many skills are set to amaze - fire performers, aerial artists, acrobats and stilt walkers, sign dancers and aroma jockeys imported from Netherlands. There will be a variety of food and drinks and
a movie zone. All this along with special sensory dance floors means that
Sencity will be filled with experiential "happenings" designed to appeal
to all the senses - sight, sound, touch, smell, taste and most importantly, perception.
