More than 50 of the Western Cape’s rising surf stars have already entered the second annual Kahuna Surf Series (KSS) designed to foster, encourage and develop contest surfing skills, which starts at Muizenberg Corner this weekend.

This is the first of the three WP Surfing sanctioned events that provide novice surfers with entry level surfing competition in which to hone their talent in a relaxed and fun-filled atmosphere with loads of prizes from the country’s top surf industry companies at stake.

The KSS restricts entry to surfers who have not previously qualified for the finals of a national surfing event to give all the other local contenders the opportunity to experience the joy and motivation of becoming a winner.

In order to promote transformation in surfing in the Western Cape the organisers have invited 10 developing surfers from the Micah Surf Club in Macassar to compete in the first event and have waived their entry fees.

Competitors can call the WP Surfing Info Line on 08 22 33 4001 after 7.30am each day of KSS events to find which divisions are competing first.
