The High Walk aims to empower women, whether they are in the
workplace, in school, their homes as mothers, grandmothers and society as
a whole. It believes that women need to be empowered irrespective of
culture, background, age, race or creed.
This is an opportunity for women whom can afford to assist
those less fortunate to do something for their fellow sisters and for
those less fortunate to be empowered by the help of another sister. The
High Walk is not only about raising money but is also an opportunity to
assist another women in whatever struggles they face whether it be in
finances, abuse, lack of education or emotional assistance.
Top entertainers Lungi Naidoo and Jo-Anne Strauss are
supporting the walk as well as will last year’s miss Junior Africa winner,
Reana Van Tonder.

‘We want to encourage the women of South Africa to succeed
in whatever field they are in, whether it is to become a better mother, to
start their own business, to look for a job or seek advice for support
groups’ says Tanya Price director of Swish Events.
The message will be strong – if you need help ask - you are
not alone and also reminding everyone that women are the driving force and
centre of family life!
The High Walk will be held on Women’s Day which is
recognised and celebrated throughout the whole of South Africa. ‘It is a
united event for women from all walks of life supporting a Social
Enterprise – The Clothing Bank that has established an
entrepreneurial skills development programme for disadvantaged
women. This charity gives women the platform to gain knowledge in a
working environment, skills and motivation to be the best that they can be
in today’s society because as the centre of families, every women matters!
The High Walk for ladies will be across a 3.6km stretch and
each lady would need to wear high heels, whether the heel is half an inch
high or 5 inches high.

things to eat and things to buy. Entrance for non walkers is R20 per
person and R10 per child under the age of 12. All proceeds of the day go
to The Clothing Bank to continue to assist them empowering women’s lives.
