Time: -
Price: R40
Performances: 9 Aug 2010

The High Walk aims to empower women, whether they are in the workplace, in school, their homes as mothers, grandmothers and society as a whole. It believes that women need to be empowered irrespective of culture, background, age, race or creed.
This is an opportunity for women whom can afford to assist those less fortunate to do something for their fellow sisters and for those less fortunate to be empowered by the help of another sister. The High Walk is not only about raising money but is also an opportunity to assist another women in whatever struggles they face whether it be in finances, abuse, lack of education or emotional assistance.
Top entertainers Lungi Naidoo and Jo-Anne Strauss are supporting the walk as well as will last year’s miss Junior Africa winner, Reana Van Tonder.

‘We want to encourage the women of South Africa to succeed in whatever field they are in, whether it is to become a better mother, to start their own business, to look for a job or seek advice for support groups’ says Tanya Price director of Swish Events.
The message will be strong – if you need help ask - you are not alone and also reminding everyone that women are the driving force and centre of family life!
The High Walk will be held on Women’s Day which is recognised and celebrated throughout the whole of South Africa. ‘It is a united event for women from all walks of life supporting a Social Enterprise – The Clothing Bank that has established an entrepreneurial skills development programme for disadvantaged women.  This charity gives women the platform to gain knowledge in a working environment, skills and motivation to be the best that they can be in today’s society because as the centre of families, every women matters!
The High Walk for ladies will be across a 3.6km stretch and each lady would need to wear high heels, whether the heel is half an inch high or 5 inches high.
Online tickets can be bought through www.swishevents.co.za or www.webtickets.co.za.  The day will be filled with entertainment, things to eat and things to buy. Entrance for non walkers is R20 per person and R10 per child under the age of 12.  All proceeds of the day go to The Clothing Bank to continue to assist them empowering women’s lives.
