SPOTLIGHT ON:

Asoka Son of Dharma

Visiting Asoka Son of Dharma is like slipping into your oldest pair of levi's - comfortable, easy and undeniably sexy. Their partnership with Levi Strauss & Co. is evident through denim-style fabrics, saddle stitching and the distinctive Levi's red tab on ottomans, bar stools and denim upholstered toilet door panels. Its new look reflects the latest international design trends while retaining its characteristic welcoming warmth of a private home.

Asoka Son of Dharma is informally divided into two main sections, each governed by its own bar. A cosy alcove featuring additional fireside seating flanks the main entrance bar. The additional champagne-martini-vodka bar is positioned in the rear of the courtyard dining area, which remains home to one of Cape Town's oldest olive trees, The Dharma Tree. This landmark will now share the spotlight with a handcrafted, one-of-a-kind chandelier, designed and produced by Lou Nylon, a Hermanus-based artist and musician.

Since it's re-opening the Asoka Son of Dharma has provided a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere to several world-class celebrities, the most recent being Colin Farrell.
