 LB's
If ever you've wanted
to throw an Austin Powers-inspired party, the closest you'll come to it in
Cape Town is LB's above Joburg Bar in Long St. When owner Bruce Gordon let
the space out to Swiss artists Sabina Lang and Daniel Baumann, the last
thing he expected when they left was a psychedelic art installation that
could double as a very, very funky club. Circles are a big theme in LB's -
from the large, sunken booths with creamy leather covers, to the circular
decorations that adorn the walls and ceiling, to the half circle bar.
 Colours
are exclusively green and purple - Well what did you expect Baby? The
venue is very intimate - with a capacity of 120 revelers - the ideal
setting for a private party, and a plasma screen is a bonus for screenings
films. Hmmm, I wonder what Austin would watch? The interior is non-smoking
- bummer baby! But there is an outdoor smoking deck. The only thing it
lacks is the revolving round waterbed.
 Lb's
is only open for private functions and suitable for birthday parties, or
just parties in general, photo shoots, wrap parties, cultural events and
corporate functions. Weekdays it will set you back R800 and R1000 over
