CityROCK
If you’ve ever wanted to try out rock climbing, then CityROCK in
Observatory offers you a safe, centrally located venue to do just that!
Enthusiastic and well trained staff are available at all times to help out
– be it with gear rentals, advice or belaying on a climb. And climbing
there’s plenty of!
With a climbable surface of over 400 square meters, CityROCK offers
over ninety different routes – ranging from easy grade 12 routes to a
virtually unclimbable grade 32! Aside from that you can choose between top
rope climbs (a rope is already in place for you to use) or lead rope
climbs (you put in your own rope as you go along). If that’s not enough,
there’s also a separate artificial cave for bouldering. And don’t think
climbing is only for ultra fit adults - anyone from 6 years and up is
allowed to climb - and there’s a separate climbing section for under 15’s.
CityROCK
also offers various courses on a regular basis to improve your rock
climbing skills – from introductory to lead climbing and technique
courses, which covers topics like climbing economically, using available
assets and conserving energy. Special courses are also taught to children
and the highest international safety standards are maintained at all
times.
Visitors
are able to rent shoes, harnesses and chalk bags from a dedicated onsite
Orca Industries store, which also sells an extensive range of all the
latest climbing gear and magazines.
CityROCK also has a more social side – hosting children’s birthday
parties, corporate activities and teambuilding exercises.
