The Cape Academy of Performing Arts (CAPA) will present
Crazy little Thing at Artscape from 27 November to 4 December 2010. The
production has been devised and directed by Anton Luitingh and Duane
Alexander, well known names in the musical theatre industry who also
brought us Headshots, the acclaimed CAPA production that premiered at
Artscape in 2009. Crazy Little Thing is performed by the talented CAPA
students, and explores the joys, hardships, exhilaration, and rejection of
teen romance, as a group of young people quickly discover the connection
between ‘adolescence’ and ‘adult lessons’.

Teen pregnancy, sexual identity, and risky sexual behaviour
are some of the realities of this daunting rite of passage. Luitingh and
Alexander are particularly well known for their lead roles in Beauty and
the Beast and Rent respectively, and they are seen regularly on stages in
SA and abroad in some of the world’s top stage productions. CAPA was
founded in 1986 by Debbie Turner and is recognised as being one of the top
performing arts training institutions in SA.
