Joe Barber 5 - School Cuts

Venue: Baxter Theatre, Main Rd, Rondebosch. Tel: 083 915 8000.
Time: Tue -  Sat @ 8:00pm
Price: R100 -R110
Performances: 30 Nov 2010 - 15 Jan 2011
Genre: Comedy

The theme of Joe Barber 5 is School Reunions and according to director Heinrich Reisenhofer and the stars of the show David Isaacs and Oscar Petersen, they have had the most fun producing School Cuts.  ‘We have shared our own school stories, laughed so much in rehearsal rooms that we could not stand.
The audience participation and feedback has been truly amazing.  No matter where we have gone, the school spirit is the same and the show grew as we heard new stories, learnt new war-cries and made new friends.’
Endorsing their success Brent Meersman, well-known Mail and Guardian theatre critic wrote;   'They are far funnier than many of the stand-up comics currently doing the circuit. They have theatricality and an alphabet of dramatic performance at their fingertips that lifts them a cut above the rest’.

At the end of the 2009, Mail and Guardian voted Joe Barber, nationally, as one of the most successful productions of the decade.
This Cape Town leg of  the tour will be the last Joe Barber show for a while as the team focus their energy on getting the barbershop characters their own television show. These final performances will be a truly emotional, nostalgic and a celebratory season as they bring to a close eleven successful years of magic, laughter and lovable characters.
f you have not seen the production this is your last opportunity to experience a true Cape Town phenomenon and an unmissable event for any Joe Barber fan. Music is by Jitsvinger (Quintin Goliath).  So, tie your hair in ponytails, put on your old school uniform, pack your sandwiches and head on down to the Baxter Theatre.
