The ultimate school reunion will be
taking Cape Town by storm as the Barber Boys go back to school with their
brand new comedy School Cuts! Its time to take out your old school
uniforms, tie your hair in pony tails, pull up your socks, pack your
toebroodjies and head on down to the Baxter Theatre for a hilarious
journey of school life with comedians David Isaacs and Oscar Petersen.
Directed by multi-award winner Heinrich
Reisenhofer and music by well-known Jitsvinger, School Cuts explores
familiar stories from the first awkward day at school wearing a uniform
too big, the highs of matric and interschool sports, your first school
crush and being sent to the principal’s office for punishment, sometimes
with … school cuts!

Barber shop owners Boeta Joe and Boeta
Gamat offer their own school-cut specials while attempting to host a
school reunion with the help of Washiela and her home catering. Outjie is
also in the mix when a hysterical plot unfolds around a broken window and
soccer ball. This culminates in a grand finale that includes all the
characters on stage played by two actors!
Heinrich Reisenhofer says; ‘As with all
Joe Barber productions this is an interactive affair. Audience members get
involved with the stage action and they are encouraged to come dressed in
their old school uniforms. There will be prizes for the best dressed and
for those with the best school spirit !
School Cuts is an ideal event to host a
school reunion where class mates can come together for a comedy icebreaker
that will get everyone talking about old times and discuss what is
happening with the latest generation of school-goers.
