From his hilarious childhood growing up in the Flats to his equally hilarious present, Comedian Kurt Schoonraad invites you on a wildly funny journey into the deepest reaches of his warped mind with his new production HomeGroan. Opening at the Baxter Concert Hall, it sees Kurt and friends - Altaf Kazi, Horatio Caine and a horde of Aliens make the amazing discovery that coloured people are taking over the world.
Director Rob van Vuuren, a comic Tour de Force and versatile performer (Twakkie, in The Most Amazing Show, Strictly Come Dancing,  SA’s Got Talent and more) says, ‘It  has been a dream come true to finally work with a man whose hair and eyeballs I have admired from afar for quite some time.'

HomeGroan reinforces why Schoonraad is such a stellar player in the South African Comedy industry as he crosses that invisible threshold between young manhood and full blown middle age!.
Kurt is no stranger to the comedy circuit, appearing in many local and international comedy festivals and has had  significant roles in popular SABC TV series;  the  quirky accidental tourist in Going Nowhere Slowly,  the whacky protagonist in Crazy Games (2006-09) and was one of the first celebrities to feature in Who Do You Think You Are?  He also pioneered the successful Jou Ma se Comedy Club.
‘Developing this new show has become quite a humbling experience. ‘I’ve never tackled comedy from this angle before’, states Kurt.  ‘I am really excited to be working with a well known South African comedy genius like Rob, but I wouldn’t be able to finish a whole one!”
