THEATRE

Godfrey Johnson Uncut

Venue: Tabula Rasa, 140 Upper Canterbury Rd, Gardens. Tel: 072 112 1566
Time: -
Price: R50 - R70
Performances: 24 Nov - 19 Dec 2009
Genre: Cabaret

Without missing a beat, without a false note, and without a doubt, Johnson is putting on his most personal show to date; a passionate showcase of music that has inspired him, mixed in with his original compositions.
Armed with only a piano, his mischievous fingers, a resonating voice and dry humour, Johnson lets completely loose for the very first time. Blending humour and heartbreak, his dazzling musical repartee reveals the range and skill that has earned him a devoted following.

Uncut also offers fans an extra half an hour of performance featuring songs chosen by the audience. This wish-list will be selected from Johnson’s incredible repertoire of musical numbers – ranging across the classics from Brel, Coward and Sondheim to innumerable contemporary artists and obscure gems from artists such as Soft Cell, Supertramp, Joe Jackson, and Billy Joel.
The show is directed by Sanjin Muftić as their 3rd collaboration, following the success of Behind Every Man and Flirting with Coward.
