Multi-talented actress, singer and musician Michèle Maxwell
brings her special blend of panache, musical energy and acting skills to
the Kalk Bay Theatre this month.
Michèle has enjoyed an illustrious international and local
career on stage, television, in musicals and as a singer, and is
well-known for her roles in T.V. programmes such as Scandal!, Isidingo and
Fishy Feshions. She says, “C’est La Vie is a collection of my stories and
observations on life, love and reaching a place of self-acceptance where
one can say, “That’s Life!”, expressed through a wealth of French songs
and jazz standards.”
She sings in French and English from the repertoires of
Edith Piaf, Nina Simone, Shirley Horn, Jacques Brel, Charles Trenet, and
Dave Brubeck, amongst others.
“I also throw in some blues, latin and swing to move the
pace along,” she adds. “I have performed this show at various venues in
Gauteng and it is wonderful to have the opportunity to be back at the Kalk
Bay Theatre to bring it to Cape Town audiences.”
