Folk Rock Heroes pays tribute to some of these artistes
along with those who started the trend in the 60’s. Utilizing Cape Town's
top young talent the audience are taken on a musical journey through the
history of folk-rock from the 60's to the 90's, and in true Mike McCullagh
style are invited to sing, dance or participate any way they like in this
high energy tribute show.
Typical folk-rock heroes including Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell,
Jim Croce, Neil Young, Crosby, Stills and Nash, The Byrds, The Mamas and
the Papas, Simon and Garfunkel, The Turtles, Steeleye Span, The Strawbs,
Jethro Tull, The Dubliners and others. Along with these are rock legends
who always included folk-rock in their repertoire and on their albums -
The Beatles, The Eagles, U2 and Creedence Clearwater Revival.
