The team that brought audiences the hit plays 'Is Ja' and
'Under the Fig Tree' now collaborates with Luqmaan Adams, responsible for
'Where the boys are' to bring you the new musical show Second Time Around.
Two (almost) middle-aged guys wake up in a strange room.
They are clueless as to where they are and how they got there, and
although they are best friends, how the hell did they end up here,
together?
Turns out they are stuck at the registration point of the
Pearly Gates. The application process reveals that these two, normal guys
once formed part of the (almost famous) duet '2DAM Fresh'. Something
happened on the way to F.A.M.E. and we are about to find out ... we
journey with them through their (Jackson 5) childhood dreams and (Boyz 11
Men) teenage fantasies.

They always, almost succeeded and nearly hit the winning
seats during the 80's, or did they almost win gold in the 90's. Or was it
the promise of instant fame in 2003 when they hit the final 20 in the
reality hit show Pop Stars?
They almost hit the big time, but fate (always) dealt them
the losing hand, the runner-up seats and the blerrie bronze medallion.
Although they are too old (way too old!) now they see one last chance by
auditioning for the FIFA 2010 World Cup Opening Ceremony (as entertainment
naturally, not athletes). And it is this fateful turn of events that find
them at the Pearly Gates. They will not quit until they get their last
chance ...
Second Time Around takes the audience on a magical (and
sometimes nostalgic) journey through the most loved music of Cape Town.
Celebrate the decades with artistes such as The Real Thing, Bill Withers,
Stevie Wonder, Kool & the Gang, Lou Rawls, Jackson 5 and much, much more.
