Freddie Mercury once famously sang The Show Must Go On and so it shall, in Cedric Vandenschrik’s tribute to Queen.
The music of Queen has endured the test of time and the band owes at least part of its timeless appeal to the lasting legacy of their legendary lead singer, Freddie Mercury.  With his crystal clear vocals and flamboyant stage presence, he catapulted Queen’s live shows into showbiz history.  Less well known however, is the band’s depth of songwriting talent, as the show will reveal.  Queen is one of the few bands in which all four members had top 10 chart success with songs they had personally written.
Vandenschrik has spent many years performing as Freddie.  He will be backed by talented singer Candice Thorne, who received acclaim for her recent performance of Celine Dion at Roxy’s. The band features drummer Mike Horne, bassist Morne Smit, guitarist and vocalist Jeremy Olivier and Lee Gelderbloem on keyboards, vocal and musical direction.

Since first forming in 1971, the band released a total of 18 number one albums, selling over 300 million of these worldwide.  Their accolades include 18 number one singles, 10 number one DVDs and seven Ivor Novello awards.  They are undoubtedly among the world’s best selling musicians and have rightly earned their 2001 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The show opens with Queen live at their 1986 tour concert at Wembley Stadium which spawned the Queen Live At Wembley Stadium album.  This was to be the second last show they would ever do with Freddie.  The show then retraces the band’s incredible roller coaster ride to fame and features all time Queen favourites such as “Another one bites the dust”, “I want to break free”, “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “One Vision”, “Radio Gaga”, “We will Rock you”, “Who wants to live forever”, “Don't stop me now”, “We are the Champions” and many more.
