DVD REVIEW

Stuck on You

Cast: Matt Damon, Greg Kinnear, Eva Mendes, Wen Yann Shih
Classification: L
Running Time:
114min
Discs: 1

So what's it all about?
Two conjoined twins (Damon and Kinnear) live happily together running a burger parlour in Martha's Vineyard. Then one decides to go to Hollywood to become an actor. The other follows (obviously) although he is less inclined, but wants his brother to be happy.  Friction develops between the brothers and they decide to be surgically separated, only to discover they were happier together.
Is it any good?
Stuck on You is directed by the Farley brothers, who also did Something About Mary, and Me, Myself and Irene, so if you like that kind comedy, you'll enjoy this one, although it is not as vulgar. It's a mildly entertaining romantic comedy with a couple of good laughs.
The highlight of the movie, however, is how well Damon and Kinnear act together while joined at the hip, or at the kidney, in this case. A particularly well choreographed scene features the twins making 12 hamburgers in under three minutes. Meryl Streep and Cher (who plays herself) also have small roles in the movie, which adds a bit more interest.
Score: 2/5
How about those special features?
The dvd has quite a collection of added features, including commentaries by the directors, a number of deleted scenes, bloopers and an interesting insert on the technology used to join Damon and Kinnear. Also of interest is a short snippet on the making of Aliens vs Predator.
Score: 3/5
Best part:
The fight scene with Damon and Kinnear against a bunch of deadbeats in a bar.
