The Cape Town show of Swedish House Mafia’s One Last Tour - originally scheduled for Lourensford Wine Estate - is moving venues due to industrial strikes in the Western Cape.
The show will still take place on Sunday, 27th January 2013,
“Due to the unsafe circumstances, it was deemed a safety risk to hold any public event at said farm with the strike in progress and, as such, I decided that the event has to take place at another venue,” said Colonel MA Williams, Station Commander at Somerset West SAPS.
The new venue that the organisers managed to find at this late stage, is the polo field at the Cape Town Ostrich Farm on the N7 in Malmesbury, and the show date and time will remain the same.
“We realize that this is a massive change so close to the show dates, but on the plus side, the Cape Town Ostrich Farm has easier access for cars entering and leaving the venue, and is closer to Cape Town so will mean less traveling time for party-goers,” says Shaun Duvet from Electric. “The production will remain as was originally planned for Lourensford, and is guaranteed to transform the venue into a world-class stage, fit for the Swedish House Mafia.
As soon as the Somerset West SAPS deemed it a safety risk, there was no choice for us but to find an alternate venue. There is no event that is worth risking people’s safety for.”
Note that ticket holders do NOT need to change their tickets. All existing tickets purchased for Lourensford will still be valid, however if any ticket holders are unhappy about the venue change, Computicket will be offering full refunds.
