Fresh from her hugely successful global tour- Lira returns to the Southern African Stage with The Captured Tour from September 30th to October 29th at top venues across South Africa.

The Captured Tour is a homecoming of sorts for Lira who has spent the last few months touring the planet in support of launching her international career and debut offering for the European and North American territories. The album, a collection of “best of songs”, represents years of personal and musical growth and development that have seen Lira create a unique and memorable sound that instantly stands out from the clutter of most modern music.

Her powerfully emotive and uplifting songs will be brought to life in an energetic and unforgettable stage show that has been perfected through months of touring, playing to thousands of new adoring fans across the world. Songs from all her albums as well as new arrangements and additions to her classics will bring a new element of surprise not to missed, as well as a few hidden performance collaborations with South African greats, that will captivate new and old fans alike, culminating in a DVD recording at the Sun City Superbowl on the 29th Oct, setting the scene for Lira’s second DVD recording.

“We are making this the biggest DVD production ever captured on African Soil, again”, says Robin Kohl, DVD production head and manager.  “We’re taking what we did in 2009 and doubling the scale – we are also capturing Liras’ performances through the eyes of fans at each and every destination, throughout the tour. Fans will be part of a truly interactive capturing process and become our roving camera team in each venue. We will find “superfans” in each city who will be given tasks to film Lira, backstage happenings and gain an all access experience as to what goes on behind the scenes in Lira’s world. This is the most powerful experience we have been able to offer fans and is the very concept behind this tour”.

“The size of this production and the fact that we’re making history is part of my mission for this tour”, says Lira. “I wanted to capture the experience of my shows through the eyes of my fans”. Lira’s global aspirations are nothing new - buoyed by multi-platinum sales of her two studio albums and a live DVD, a mantelpiece full of awards and support of fans – Lira has made no secret of her desire to find a global audience for her music. “I have big dreams,” Lira has frequently been quoted as saying – and it looks increasingly likely that this rare artist will see those dreams come true.

But as much as Lira loves touring the world, for her, South Africa is her home, physically and spiritually and it is where she draws her inspiration.
