Much acclaimed Afrikaans Pop Electro group, Die Heuwels Fantasties, open their hearts to raise funds for charity organisation, People Living with Cancer.
The band will host two concerts towards this cause at the Willowbridge Barnyard Theatre in Bellville on the 14th and 15th of August.
“We’re very excited to do something like this again at the Barnyard. Last year was a major success. It felt slightly like a street braai with all our school friends and their parents attending. Much more is expected this time around, with it being for a good cause”, says Hunter Kennedy.
The concert on the 14th will be an acoustic performance and Die Heuwels Fantasties will entertain the crowd with chilled, acoustic renditions of their old and new favourites. This performance is aimed at the calm souls and tickets are R100. Tickets for the show on the 15th, the party performance, will be R120. Doors open at 6:30pm and the the performance starts at 20h00.
This year alone Die Heuwels Fantasties have won three Ghoema Awards and a Huisgenoot Tempo Award. They have also received a nomination for ‘Best Alternative Album’ at the SAMAs and three MK Awards nominations. Last year the group won four MK Awards, including ‘Best Group’. They walked away with Tempo Awards for ‘Alternative music video of the year with MK Noorderlig’ and ‘Skopskuifalbum of the year with Wilder Wilder as die Wildtuin’. In 2010 the group won a SAMA Award for ‘Best Alternative Album – Afrikaans’, for their debut album, ‘Die Heuwels Fantasties’.
Die Heuwels Fantasties’ first album, ‘Die Heuwels Fantasties’, and their second album, ‘Wilder as die Wildtuin’, both reached Golden Status. Their third album will be released in October.
