S.A.M.A. award winning artist, Ed Jordan has been at the forefront of South African music for more than twelve years.
Since his first No 1.single "Dream" in 1992 he's had a string of radio hits including "Hear me howling", "Right between the eyes", "Crazy", Your Man", "To Have and to Hold", "Where did I go wrong" and the classic "Always". Every Christmas time, children across the country are taught to sing his single "African Christmas" which went Gold in 1998.
He is well known for his engaging and energetic live performances, always surrounding himself with the finest session musicians to accompany him. He's supported Crowded House, Hootie and the Blowfish and Bryan Ferry on their S.A. tours as well as performing solo all over Southern Africa and touring Taiwan.
He has written music for film and theatre including William Kentridge's "Monument" and "Woyzeck on the Highveld". In 1999, he co- wrote the musical "Love Crime and Johannesburg" for the Market Theatre.
His involvement in television has been extensive, from T.V. One's "Fast Forward", to M-Net's "Big City" and "Super Saturday", to T.V.Three's "Popstars" and "The Wedding Show".
Since the release of his third studio album "Crazy", Ed hasn't had a chance to sit still. Coca Cola Popstars took him all over the country as one of the judges, to put together a five piece group that would do South Africa proud. What resulted was "101", a dynamic pop outfit that went Gold in it's first week of release. Soon after Popstars finished, Ed joined Lionel Bastos in Plett for a week of songwriting sessions. It was here that the beautiful "Goddess" was born. A song that delivers all that a woman deserves to hear.
Filming for "The Wedding Show" began soon after and inspired discussions for an album of beautiful love songs, old and new that are played at weddings all over the world. With the same "concept album approach" as Robbie Williams', "Swing when You're Winning",the brand new cd, "For Always" was recorded in March and April this year with producer Dennis East and engineer Keith Forsyth.
"For Always" is Ed Jordan's fourth studio album featuring thirteen classic love songs, including the brand new hit single "Goddess" as well as the re-release of "To Have and to Hold" and the timeless "Always". Dennis East has produced a gem of an album with familiar songs that will touch everyone. like,"Have I Told You Lately","Just the way you are" and "The way you look tonight".
