Dance for All’s 21st Anniversary celebrations continue with another fundraising event with a difference.
Called A Night of Stars,it will be held at the prestigious Grand Café & Beach, in Granger Bay on Wednesday 3 October 2012 at 18h30.
The highlight of the evening will be fabulous Cape Town celebrities putting on their dancing shoes to show how they can cha-cha, rumba, samba and glide around the dance floor. Some of Cape Town’s finest professional Latin & Ballroom dancers will take them through their paces on the day of the event, training them in the dance form that they’ll be showcasing Strictly Come Dancing‚ style. Then, dressed to kill, the celebs will do what they do best - wow the audience.
Guests will enjoy scrumptious food and a night of top-class, live entertainment in the luxurious Grand Café & Beach, where grand-chic meets retro-romance in the atmospheric setting of a restored warehouse, positioned on a private beach adjacent to Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront.
The MC will be the comedy diva and inspirational entertainer Irit Noble, a cabaret artiste, comedienne & compere extraordinaire, and among the celebs will be Saskia Falken, Presenter of The Mid Morning Mix on Heart 104.9fm; Lynelle Kenned (My Top Billing Dream finalist); Andrew Barnes (e.tv senior news & current affairs anchor); Lushwill Rossouw (winner of Bar One Manhunt Season 2) and Derek Van Dam (eNCA Chief Meteorologist).
Guest entertainment will also include live music and performances by tenor James Bhemgee (winner of SA‚s Got Talent 2 2010); International Latin Dance Adjudicator, Dancesport champion and trainer Grant Mandon, with his partner Gabi Geffen; and the fabulously exotic Soma Fusion Bellydance Company.
Dance for All’s own African Dance Outreach Programme students will perform, in addition to DFA’s talented InSPIRAtions Youth Company. Then the floor will be opened up for revelry and dancing.
As part of the fundraiser, stunning items will be auctioned ˆ so come well prepared to bid. Envelopes containing mystery prizes will also be up for grabs.
Choose between a three-course sit-down meal at R650 a ticket or lounge and mingle informally while enjoying delicious canapés at R450 a ticket. Bookings for a full table of 10 cost R5000 each.
