Starting on the 7th February, Café Manhattan, Green Point will be hosting two hours of tasting and talking about all thing spirits.

Whisky guru Bernard Gutman will take you through the history of whisky, from Iraq to America, from France to Scotland, delving into Single Malts, Blends and Bourbons.

The first evening starts at 6.30 sharp with whisky cocktails and snacks, then from 7 to 8.30pm Bernard will serve you five premium whiskies and bourbons, including Maker’s Mark, the original special recipe bourbon, and Laphroig, the World’s best-selling Islay Single Malt.

Every second Tuesday Bernard will introduce different whiskies, then move into rum, tequila, vodka, brandy and other spirits. Bernard Gutman is an independent whisky presenter, who has been talking and writing about whisky for the past 10 years in South Africa, Cuba, Kenya and England. He co-hosted the first weekly radio show, Let’s Talk Whisky, writes regularly for local and international magazines and has been featured in many whisky publications. His passion is premium spirits.
