Van Ryn's Distillery near Stellenbosch, has introduces a menu of tantalising brandy-based cocktails to match the seasons.

Changing every month to mirror the mood of the moment, the mixology mavens have created matches with chocolate, coffee, fruit or spice, to tempt those who know and love brandy but also those who are newcomers to brandy.

To welcome the sultry season, all through summer, they are offering an enticing iced brandy, chocolate coffee cocktail. December's Summer Pine combines brandy with the zesty, thirst-quenching tastes of grapefruit and pineapple. January's brandy is infused with a refreshing ginger bite, while the choice for Valentine's month is a romantic brandy and bubbly tinged with a hint of exotic rose water. March brings brandy, apple and vanilla.

All year round, Van Ryn's makes a decadent and creamy-textured sweet treat called Angel's Share. Prices range from R20 to R35 per cocktail.

Cocktails can be sipped and savoured on plush couches in the distillery's cool, tranquil indoor tasting area or enjoyed under the shade of umbrellas overlooking the fragrant garden.
