Vuurvoël/Firebird will be presented on Wednesday 14 September at 20:00 in Hiddingh Hall as part of the Gordon Institute for Performing and Creative Arts (GIPCA) Music in the City concert series.

Cape Town will be welcoming fellow performers Timothy and Samuel West to the Fugard stage during October.

The Fugard Theatre Bioscope will be partnering with The Royal Opera House, The Royal Ballet Company in London and The Bolshoi Ballet Company in Moscow to bring exclusively to Cape Town audiences some of the world’s most well known opera and ballet.

Surfers Corner on Muizenberg Beach will again be the venue for the fifth annual edition of the Earthwave Beach Festival where surfers will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the ‘most surfers riding the same wave’ which they set at 110 in 2009.

The Cape Town Marathon, which takes place on Sunday 25 September, has an extended 8-hour cut off time to give novice runners the opportunity to complete their first 42.2km race.
