A salmon burger garnished with gherkin, spring onion and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice is matched with Nederburg Winemaster’s Reserve Sauvignon Blanc, while Nederburg Winemaster’s Reserve Riesling is paired with a chicken breast burger, stuffed with caramelised onion and dried apricots, and wrapped in bacon. Third in line is Nederburg Winemaster’s Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon accompanied by a traditional beef burger dressed up with tomato, red Leicester cheese and fresh herbs. For a true South African touch, there’s a bobotie beef burger paired with Nederburg Winemaster’s Reserve Pinotage. The sweet wine that keeps on wowing international and local judges, the Winemaster’s Reserve Noble Late Harvest, is served with a delectable Parma ham, blue cheese and green fig “burger”.
The Burgermaster Pairing offering is only available in Nederburg’s visitors’ centre and is charged at R85 a head. The wine and burger pairings will change periodically to keep it fresh, interesting and exciting
