Five acclaimed South African bands will take to the stage at the V&A Waterfront Amphitheatres Summer Concerts from 26 -30 December.

First up to thrill the crowds is local band Hot Water on Wednesday 26 December from 6:00pm onwards. Hot Waters music blends traditional South African music such as kwela, mbaqana, sakkie-sakkie, ghoema and kwasa-kwasa incorporated with folk, blues and indie pop rock.

Thursday the 27th sees popular pop rock band Macstanley, previously known as Flat Stanley, take to the stage. In addition to well-loved crowd favourites, Macstanley will also perform tracks from their new album "Lucid, Alive and Dreaming" which has recently been released.  Although still following the same popular formula, some of the new tracks have a raunchier rock edge to them and Andy Macs distinctive vocals are sharper than ever.

Blending flavours of Michael Buble and Josh Groban, South Africas own master vocalist Selim Kagee will wow visitors with his broad and exciting vocal range on 28 December from 6:00pm. Selims classical training enables him to deliver a romantic combination of classic and pop songs in both English and Italian.

Following on from Selim at 6:30, glamour girls Sterling EQ will raise the summer temperature even further. This group of talented female musicians make instruments rock and in 2011 fiddled their way to  a SAMA Award, becoming only the second all-girl group to ever win one of the coveted awards. The bands fusion of classical, kwaito, pop and rock music leads to a distinctive and contemporary sound.
