DNA Strings, one of South Africa's best-known instrumental bands, will he holding a reunion concert at the idyllic Rhebokskloof Theatre on the Lake on 24 February.
The band has won awards for Best Live Performance, Best Duo/Group, Best Contempory Band and Best Contempory Album and have also received numerous nominations including Best Instrumental Band.
Their music, perfectly suited to live shows, is often described as pulsating, energetic, uplifting, passionate and powerful. The concert at the Rhebokskloof Theatre on the Lake willl showcase a fusion of styles, including African, Irish, South American, Traditional Folk and even some North African Arabic sounds. Flamenco guitar, violin, drums, bass guitar and a variety of percussion instruments from around the world dish up their ethnic sounds.
The DNA strings have performed throughout Africa, at the Edinburgh Fringe festival in Scotland, the Seychelles and the Royal Albert Hall.
The DNA Strings Reunion Concert takes place at the Rhebokskloof wine estate on 24 February at 7:00pm. Food and wines will be for sale, although visitors are weclome to bring their own picnics. Bookings can be made via computicket.
