"I Am Hamlet" is an award winning and unique one-act comedy-thriller by Richard James.
It is set in England and tells the tale of an actor auditioning for the lead role in a production of Hamlet.
‘Tom’, played by Leon Clingman, is a director who yearns for mainstream theatre recognition and puts ‘Simon’, played by Aidan Whytock, through the gruelling paces of an audition which sets the stage for great comedy. But as tension mounts, audiences slowly learn the actor has more in common with the Prince of Denmark than meets the eye...
Sugar-daddy Theatre Co., headed up by Marlisa Doubell, brings this clever British comedy-thriller to Cape Town for the first time.
I am Hamlet will be performed at the Intimate Theatre, 37 Orange Street, Cape Town. Performances are Tuesdays to Saturdays at 8:00pm from 17 October – 3 November 2012. Tickets are R50 / R40 for Students and Pensioners
