Nik Rabinowitz brings his hit show Stand and Deliver to the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) on Saturday 27th October.
The Johannesburg show takes place at the Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City on Saturday 10th November 2012.
Funny man Rabinowitz was raised on the mean, green streets of Constantia, Cape Town, a world of ride-bys, piano lessons, and unrelenting love and financial support from family members. Despite these hardships he managed to achieve moderate success as the world's foremost Xhosa-speaking Jewish comedian.
While it may appear from the poster to be a show about a personality-disordered comic surfing in his underpants, it really isn’t. In fact, Stand and Deliver has nothing to do with surfing and Nik almost never goes out in just his underpants. Prepare not just to laugh, but also to make extraordinary discoveries - like how a grown man can end up saying things like, ‘dadda make hot for sossy’.
The Stand and Deliver DVD will be also launched on the night, and will be on sale along with signed copies of Nik & co-author Gill Breslin's recently published book South Africa: A Long Walk to a Free Ride.
Nik's opening act is Breakthrough Comic of the Year, Tats Nkonzo.
Stand and Deliver is on at the CTICC on Saturday 27th October at 9pm and at the Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City on Saturday 10th November 2012 at 9pm. Tickets cost from R120 to R150 via Computicket. Advance booking is recommended and the show is rated PG13.
