Chester-Missing-450-2

Chester Missing, South Africa's most famous, contentious political puppet embarks on a national road show which premiers at the Baxter from 14 to 23 February 2013.

Unfortunately for Chester he is accompanied by his annoying ventriloquist Conrad Koch and Conrad's puppet sidekicks Hilary, the outrageous diva Ostrich and Ronnie, the lunatic green monster. Chester wants to be the star, but these other foolish characters keep getting in the way!

As a political analyst Mr Chester Missing has broken new ground  with his outrageous hard hitting, funny and frank interviews with South Africas political elite that include Gwede Mantashe, Zwelinzima Vavi, Helen Zille, Mosioua Lekota, Blade Nzimande, Patricia De Lille,  Bantu Holomisa and others.

It is unprecedented world-wide that a puppet like Chester Missing is able to talk so frankly and directly with the ruling party and opposition alike. He is also a weekly columnist for the award winning news site  zanews.co.za

Armed with a Master's degree in Social Anthropology, Conrad Koch is recognised as SAs top ventriloquist, unique at combining cultural insights with hilarious commentary and puppetry. He is constantly exploring new directions in the ventriloquial art form where the drama of politics lends itself to satire and the theatre stage.

The Chester Missing Roadshow is directed by award-winning Heinrich Reisenhofer and produced by Podium - The Comedy Merchants. It promises to be a riot of world-class ventriloquism, crazy characters, cutting-edge political commentary and hysterically funny situations.

Performances are Tuesday to Saturday at 20.15 except the 16th, which is at 19.00. There are two low priced previews on 12 and 13 February.  Regular ticket prices are R90 for the previews and R130 for all other performances.

The Chester Missing Roadshow at the Baxter is 65 minutes and there is an age restriction PG 13 L
