Treat the one closest to your heart to a romantic Valentine's Day lunch or dinner at Nederburg’s novel restaurant, the Red Table.

With the restaurant’s unique configuration of red tables meandering through the Manor House and into the gorgeous gardens to add to the atmosphere, this makes for an ideal setting for a date to remember.

On Valentine’s Day the Red Table adds an exciting twist to its standard menu. On this day only extra starter items include West Coast oysters with chilli, lime and rice vinegar, as well as a helping of tempura tiger prawns with a crisp fresh baby leaf and mango salad on the side.

For the main course diners’ can try the grilled Norwegian salmon served with a warm fondant potato, leek and cherry tomato salad drizzled with a lemon dressing. From the range of delicious desserts the Valentine special is a soothingly sweet upside-down honey cheesecake with seasonal berry compote.

Starters range from R65 to R90 per person and mains are priced from R75 to R145. A selection of desserts is available from R45 to R55.

For something a little different a Valentine picnic basket for two or more can also be pre-ordered for R250 per person. The baskets are packed to the brim with finely prepared savoury and sweet treats such as asparagus spears wrapped in Parma ham with a pink peppercorn hollandaise dip, a beetroot, feta and rocket salad with raspberry dressing as well as lime and tequila marinated prawns, sticky chicken with peppadew and pineapple skewers and even a selection of artisanal cheeses and, cured meats. To these are added flatbread and crackers.
The basket also contains favourites such as strawberries dipped in Belgium chocolate and petite red velvet cupcakes are included. There is also a bottle of Nederburg Brut to add to the occasion or opt for non-alcoholic beverages such as bottled water and sparkling apple juice.
