Winner of a 2010 Standard Bank Ovation Award at the National Art Festival and from the producers of Love @ First Fight and Big Girls Don’t Cry, comes the latest hyper-comic crowd pleaser, but this time it’s all about the boys!
Ash Searle from So You Think You Can Dance, and his brother Bradley, who recently starred in the musicals Peter Pan, Footloose and Pinnochio, twirl their way through this unforgettable adventure of far-out farce and foolishness. Set at Ash’s bachelor party, the boys get into their fair share of trouble but from one ridiculous idea to another, they prove that true brothers watch each others’ back.
Caught between braai tongs and tutus these two Pretoria boytjies challenge the cliché of the “male dancer”. From 80s hip hop to kwaito, Dirty Dancing to the Shuffle, dance takes this high-energy comedy to new levels of entertainment. Directed and choreographed by Vanessa Harris. Written by and featuring Ash and Bradley Searle. It’s great fun for the festive season!
“Big Boys is a South African version of The Hangover meets Flashdance with all the technical perfection of a Broadway musical.” CUE
